Beethoven Masterclass: Cello Sonata No. 5 in D Major: II. Adagio – Musings with Inbal Segev

Hello Cellists,

Today’s masterclass is on the second movement from Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 5. The opening chorale sounds like a Gregorian chant and shares characteristics with his “Heiliger Dankgesang,” Op. 132. We will listen and compare this movement to other works that Beethoven wrote, talk about the structure, and more.

Please let me know if you have any comments and/or questions, I would love to hear from you. Thank you for watching!!
